Givenchy ‘Transformation Seduction’ Ad Campaign

Newly-appointed Artistic Director for Givenchy, Clare Waight Keller, has presented a teaser campaign featuring 4 black and white images shot by famed photographer Steven Meisel that gives us a sneak peak at what’s to come in her widely anticipated debut collection for the Parisian label.

In ‘Transformation Seduction’, we see the Givenchy lady evolving, yet maintaining her mystery and charm. Feminine, and sensual (which is very Clare Waight Keller to begin with), it would be interesting to see what she does for her debut collection which will be showcased at #ParisFashionWeek come October 2017, with pieces for both men and women. In the meantime, expect more teaser campaigns in the coming weeks and months, with imagery that will hopefully keep us intrigued in the best way possible.

So Slick: Givenchy LC Smooth Leather Tote

There’s always a black men’s tote you need to add to your collection.

Givenchy has a well edited bag collection that makes it an easy brand to buy from. Their women’s bag designs translate well in the market, and on the streets. Whenever Givenchy ports their popular women’s bags into a men’s version, like the Nightingale, Lucrezia, and most recently the Pandora, it’s heaven for bag loving boys.

It’s a different story with the LC Tote. Born from the design markings of the Lucrezia bag, but in a north/south tote form factor. Making it look like a macho men’s bag that you can use everyday, everywhere. Its handles are also designed with a spiral leather detail that just adds just a bit of character to the otherwise boring and typical rolled leather top handles.

In case you like luxury goods but don’t necessarily want to walk around like a walking advertisement for the brand, it’s so nice to see Givenchy taking a step back by putting a blind stamp on the bag instead of the usual raised metal

Though it’s overall an easy access, open tote, you can close it a bit with the top magnetic clasp so that you can feel a bit safe. There’s also a zipped pocket for more sensitive items you want to tuck away.

I’m so happy that Givenchy hasn’t forgotten the men’s lines. And while other brands are slow to cough out new styles, (or when they do, it’s a bit too fabulous to carry), seeing something like this from Givenchy gives me hopes that there are great under the radar bags for men out there.

PurseBlog Asks: Is the Givenchy Antigona Over?

Back in July, Amanda asked you which popular bag you thought was ready for retirement. It’s personal choice and of course what one person may deem is over another may just be starting to love. There are certain bags however that hit the ‘I’ve got to have this’ wave and ride it for quite sometime and theGivenchy Antigona is one of them. When this bag became popular, it seemed as though everyone wanted one and everyone had one.

The beauty of the Antigona lies in its shape that is different from most bags and clean lines that makes it wearable day after day and season after season. Few bags become must-haves for the masses in plain black leather, but the Antigona did. Google image search “Givenchy Antigona” and you will see many of the images of black Antigonas spotted throughout the first pages. We actually just covered Lily Aldridge and her Givenchy Antigona which she still can’t seem to get enough of! This bag was a staple, and it seemed it wouldn’t die down. But inevitably, this Givency bag has, just like majority of bags do, and there isn’t the same craze anymore.

But does that mean this bag is over?

I was doing my typical daily online browsing and ran into the black Givenchy Antigona pictured above today. I recognized it right away and for a minute, I thought – hey, I still like that bag. But do I love it? The Antigona became so well-loved that it hit a saturation point and just like all other bags, new bags popped up that made it on people’s wish lists. While this wouldn’t be the next black bag I add to my collection, I want to ask you for your opinion in the comments below.

Givenchy Mini Bow-Cut Bag

First, the disclaimer. This isn’t exactly a new bag, it’s actually from Givenchy’s Spring-Summer 2016 collection, and because it’s already June, it’s probably already on sale but more on that later.

Simply known as the Mini Bow-Cut, the outline of the bag’s flap does indeed look like a bow that’s just cut on one side, accompanied with a rather chunky metal hardware sling and a clasp so complicated looking that even Jason Bourne will have difficulty opening it. But I jest, it’s simply a push-lock clasp that opens into a bag that measures 18 cm by 13 cm, which is not exactly big but would explain why the word ‘mini’ appears in front of the name.

Available in quite a huge variety of colours/finishes/leathers, it is definitely an elegant bag, one that’s perfect for a night out in town or weekends spent cafe-hopping/and or shopping. Now for the sale bit. With Net-A-Porter having already kicked off both their US and APAC end-of-season sales, there is a leopard-print one on sale at 40% off, which makes it USD1260 (APAC price) after discount. Not bad at all, you just have to like the leopard prints.

For everything else, your best bet is to head to your nearest Givenchy boutiques, because given how they look to be classics-in-the-making, most might not go on sale any time soon.
